The mission of Echem is to bridge the gap between corrosion science and material diagnostics for existing and historic structures. Echem strives to understand current conditions to project future durability of critical infrastructure and one-of-a-kind historical landmarks.

The idea for Echem Consultants [Echem] was conceived when Gina Crevello decided to pursue a corrosion and material science consultancy after 10 years in practice.  She established a New York State Business.  The mission of Echem was to bridge the gap between corrosion science and material diagnostics for existing and historic structures, to understand current conditions to project future durability and to provide clients with durable repair solutions for existing structures or new construction.  Echem’s line of business included investigation, design, peer review, and construction support for specialist repairs.

Echem immediately lands two new Impressed Current Cathodic Protection [ICCP] design projects on historic masonry clad steel frame buildings, one in Long Beach, NY, the other in Chicago, IL.  Design work commences over the winter of 2009-2010 with construction starting in the summer of 2010.

2011-2012

Key projects include landmark structures, parking garages, buildings, and energy structures and industrial buildings. Echem works on one of a kind landmarks such as the Phillip Johnson’s Pavilion on the Pond, to 300,000 sq. ft parking garages.

Harboe Architects and Echem’s Work on the Elks Veterans Memorial receives the prestigious Acanthus Award from the Institute of Classical Architecture, Chicago Midwest Chapter.

2013

Teaming with other corrosion specialists, Echem gains traction and continues to grow.  Work included diagnostics for historic buildings, parking garages, bridges as well as concrete and masonry diagnostics.
